Daniel's Surgery

Like Mother-Like Son. I had tubes put in my ears and my adenoids taken out when I was six years old. My sweet 5 year old Daniel just had the same thing done in July. I have been trying to tell doctors, speech people etc... for two years now that his speech was a little off and wasn't hearing as well. When they would do tests they said he was fine. I think Daniel is just a smarty pants and can just get by. Finally, I got him tested for speech here in Kentucky and after a year of paperwork and tests he was approved which helped my pediatrician listen and off to an ENT we went. The ENT said his adenoids were HUGE and when they did a super sensitive hearing test he did not pass. He had so much fluid in his ears he sounded like he was under water. My poor baby has had trouble with speech because he can't hear! Well we finally got the surgery done and he is doing FANTASTIC! We just did a 4 week follow up and his hearing has improved 100 percent. Just in time for school to start. I have seen a huge improvement in his speech and now this little guy is ready to conquer the kindergarten world!

The surgery went great. He was super funny when they gave him the silly juice. He was slurring his speech, laughing, and grabbing things in the air. He was gone for about 30 min. Then when they were all done. He was really upset and wanted to  go home. Once he closed his eyes and slept for 20 min it was like nothing had ever happened! Maybe he will inherit my straight teeth too!
