I know I have had a long blogging absence and I have some great excuses. First, my camera broke. So we are in the process of finding a new one. Secondly, I have been in Utah for the last 5 weeks. My oldest sister was in an out of the hospital on bed rest and could not go home. She flew me out to Moab Utah for 5 weeks to help watch her kids. Yep, I was a mother of 5 including Daniel. There was never a dull moment.
Her kids are great and I learned many things while watching them. Have you ever heard the saying, "A mother never gets a hot meal?" I learned this to be true. Meal time is tough. Kids need things cut, drinks, more food etc. By the time you start to eat they are done and want to move on to next activity. :) So when does a mom eat? Ha ha All, I know is I sure have soooooooo much more respect for my sister and all that she does. She is a great mom and does so many fun things with her kids. I hope to be like that one day.
I also learned things will get broken. Where do I begin. I think are tally goes as followed. Daniel broke two cups, a plate, poured a whole huge bottle of vinegar on the kitchen floor. While Crystal broke a cup as well as a piggy bank they were going to give my nephew for his birthday. I felt so bad on the phone and my sister and brother in law were so kind about it. They didn't even care. I hope I can be more like that when things break and such. The true test is if they ever invite us over again.
Sharing!!! Sharing is impossible with Daniel. He could never catch on. Well sometimes he would...he is a really good Indian Giver. My nephew is 5 and loves building train tracks, blocks, legos etc. He couldn't understand why Daniel would steal and take everything without asking. ha ha So this was tough. Maybe later in life I will just have to buy two of everything. :)
Even though sharing was tough Daniel loved all the other kids. The first thing he would do when he woke up in the morning and after nap was run into the kids room and wake them up even if they were still sleeping and yell "eye" (hi) and wave. He sure misses them already.
While I was away I was also able to see my sister Cameron and two brothers. It was fun to catch up. Camerons baby boy is adorable and she is such a good mommy. We enjoyed taking the kids to the childrens museum in slc.
I have such a great family and I am so glad we can help each other out in time of need! I love being home. I sure missed my hubby! Daniel did too...he can't get enough of Jordan. So life is great! I will post some pics that my sisters took for me..
These pics are at Camerons house. This is Daniel showing us all the things a kid can do with a box
