Well everyone keeps asking questions of how the labor went. So here is the story. I did not sleep super well Wednesday, March 25, 2009. I just tossed and turned. Not that I was in pain. I was just uncomfortable. (Being 39 weeks can do that to you). Anyway, about 6:45 am. I felt my first contraction that I was aware of. I felt two then I woke Jordan up. I took a hot shower, drank lots of water and they continued to happen every five mins for about 30-60 seconds. Jordan called the Doctor and Hospital and they said I should come in. However, I didn't want to go and then get sent home. (apparently this happens alot) It hit 9:00 am and decided it was time to go to the hospital. Then off we went. (The contractions hurt but they were not as bad I thought.)
When we got to the hosptial they hooked me up to the monitors and checked me. I was diated to an 8 and pretty much 100% efaced. I was shocked. I couldn't believe it because I was only a 2 on Tuesday. (I am thinking I must have been in labor that night but just didn't know it)Then it all happened so fast. An IV in my arm, Epideral came 20 mins later and we were on our way. By that time I was a 10. However, the doctors let me sleep since they had two other people to deliever. I was okay with that since I was so tired. I Called my sisters and skyped my parents. (Jordan's family mind you is on a cruise and we have no way to contact them...but I sent them a text and an email anyway.
I love epiderals. It felt great. I could still feel my legs and such just no pain. I was having contractions every minute or so but didn't feel a thing. Then at 1:00 pm I started to push. And at 1:46 pm he was born! I did get a little tired pushing...but gain it was not as bad as I thought. Let me just say...all modesty goes out the window at this stage...We named him Daniel Jordan Hillam 6 pounds 15 ounces with 20 inches long. He had a bit of a cone head with a bad bruise but it looks so much better. He is beautiful! I couldn't believe how fast everything went. A total of 5-6 hours. He looked a little white when he was born so he had to have an IV in his hand bit other than that no problems. It is sure amazing how it all happened. I couldn't believe how well I could breath and how the nausea all went away as soon as I had him.
I sure love him so much!!!! Cameron came down and has been a big help. Jordan is a champ and the best husband ever. It is so cute to watch him hold little Danny. I am trying to master the feeding. But other than that everything is great. If you have any more questions let me know! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!!!

I am still so excited for you! You will love being a mom. It's a lot of work, but definitely worth it! Call me if you need some girl time! Get as much rest as you can!
that sounds so nice. you're so lucky. i hope it happens like that for me this time around. i'm starting to get REALLY tired of being pregnant and not knowing when the time will be...
Yeah for the smell of a baby!Snuggle a lot with him. We were happy to hear that all is well. Micah Graham
Sounds just perfect! I had a a pretty good experience with mine too! Its our type of stories people having their first babies need to hear, not the stories where it is 24+hours of labor etc! Glad to know everything went well and that you at least got your epidural before he came, I bet you were relieved! Way to go, and doesn't it feel amazing to actually be able to breathe and sit comfortably and breathe again?! haha great job and he is adorable!
Is it bad if I think 5-6 hours is a really long time.. After 25 then 20 min (total time in the hospital before baby was here) I guess I am labor spoiled. I love the name so cute! You are going to love every moment Congratulations!!

I'm sorry I missed your shower by the way, I had an icky cold and no voice that I didn't really want to pass on. I totally have something for you though. I'll have to come visit before we leave.
